  WELCOME TO EXPRESS MEDIA

Express Media provides support and development opportunities for young Australians in writing and media. We are a key point of contact for young people wishing to enter the world of literature and text from either a professional viewpoint, or just to test the waters.

We present an annual program of special events, workshops, exhibitions and artistic projects throughout the year. Our flagship project is Voiceworks magazine, a national, quarterly magazine that features exciting new writing by Australian young writers.

We also present the annual John Marsden Prize for Young Australian Writers. Sponsored and judged by the eponymous author John Marsden, the award is open to young writers (under 25) of novels, poems and short stories and has a total prize pool of $4,500.

Pour tea for dead white guys fossilised in sandstone buildings, watching their hand-me-down ideas... >> read more
