The Scribe Nonfiction Prize for Young Writers
Now in its fourth year, The Scribe Nonfiction Prize for Young Writers is a unique development award to foster talented writers aged 30 or under writing longform work. Entries are welcome across all nonfiction genres, including memoir, journalism, essay, and creative nonfiction. The winner receives a cash prize, a year-long mentorship with a senior editor to develop their work, and 25 new and soon-to-be-published books tailored to their interests. Each longlisted entrant receives a book pack and a detailed manuscript assessment from the judges.

The John Marsden & Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers
Young writers under the age of 18 are encouraged to submit their poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction to The 2016 John Marsden & Hachette Australia Prize for Young Writers. Winners receive a $500 cash prize, a selection of Young Adult titles from Hachette Australia and have the opportunity to be published online and in the September issue of Voiceworks #105. Winners and shortlisted writers will receive feedback on their work, a Meet and Greet with John Marsden and staff of Hachette Australia and participate in an exclusive workshop during the Melbourne Writers Festival.
