The Sudden Writing Prize is open for entries!
Express Media is thrilled to be partnering again with the Australasian Association of Writing Programs (AAWP) to present the 2023 Sudden Writing Prize for emerging writers under 25!
This year, we are deeply interested in capturing a composite “picture” of what people are writing about. Now. We invite creative work—short-short fiction, “sudden” fiction, “sketchy” stories, creative nonfiction, poetry, as well as hybrid forms.
We are accepting submissions on the following scale:up to 400 words prose40 lines for poetry200 words for prose poemsor the equivalent for hybrid formsThe winner receives $500, their work published on the Express Media website and a Voiceworks subscription, as well as a one-year membership to the AAWP.
Entries close midnight AEST on June 30 2023
